The Mexican School of Down Art exhibited 28 wonderful
Art Paints in Copenhague, Denmark

The traveling pictorial exhibition was admired in the wonderful city of Aarhus, Denmark during the month of October 2007.

The beautiful city of Aarhus in Denmark welcomed the great exhibition of the Mexican School of Down Art, which has amazed the world for its beauty and dedication expressed in each one of its pieces.

28 paintings of young artists that have traveled through important European cities in the last months we exhibited in Denmark.

The art collection that the Danish public enjoyed  was made by 16 artists of the Mexican School of Down Art of the John Langdon Down Foundation. Some of the most representative paintings are: El estudiante (The Student) and El Gato Montes (The Wild Cat) by Vicente Morales; Los Peces Saltan en el agua (The Fishes Jump In The Water) by Roxana Velázquez; Velero (Sailboat) and El Puente (The Bridge) by Maynca Pacheco; Cuarto de Van Gogh (Van Gogh´s Room) by Marco Polo Castillo; La Vaca (The Cow) and Pareja (Couple) by Lorena Vélez; Calendario Azteca (Aztec Calendar), Toro Salvaje (Wild Bull), El Brujo (The Wizard) and El Dragón Egipcio (The Egyptian Dragon) by Josafat Calónico; La Momia (The Mummy) and Mona Lisa by Jesús Melgarejo; Maestro Daniel (Teacher Daniel) and Perfil (Profile) by Jacqueline Méndez; Jorobado (Hunchback) by Francisco Pulido; Caballero (Knight) by Eric Navarro; Castillo (Castle) and Rómulo y Remo (Romulus and Remus) by Armando Robles; Sarita y yo (Sarita and I) by Ana Bertha Kuri; and La Playa (The Beach) by Aarón Guzmán, among others.

The paintings shown in Aarhus, Denmark are part of the traveling exhibition through Europe. Prestigious scenarios such as Paul Klee Museum in the city of Bern, Switzerland, The Palais Wilson, home of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland and recently the Mexican Embassy in Berlin and the Mexican Cultural Institute with headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark have welcomed this exhibition.

John Langdon Down Foundation was created more than 35 years ago and is the first organization in the world of its kind, providing care and education to children and young people with Down syndrome. The Foundation offers educational and comprehensive health programs to more than 500 students in Mexico City and in the different states of the country.
